Ultimate Day at the Ocean Tour
Have you ever swum with dolphins in the ocean? Have you every tried to stand up paddle surfing? No? The Wild Dolphin Swim and Stand Up Paddle Surf tour allows you to enjoy a full day of water activities that will create memories for years to come, and best of all you can enjoy them both plus a few extras on the same day.
This tour will bring you close and personal with the ocean in Bahia de Banderas, showing you some of the most exciting attractions the ocean can give you in a safe environment. In this tour nothing is prepared and you will get to see things as they are, from spotting and swimming with dolphins in their environment to practicing one of the most popular water sports in the world today: paddle surfing.
What Does the Tour Include?
The dolphin encounter experience starts at 8:45 a.m. in the Nuevo Vallarta marina, so depending on what hotel you’re at as part of the transportation we’ll be picking you up at around 8:00 a.m. (see below for pick-up locations). Once there you will receive an educational explanation to introduce you to the world of dolphins as well as information about the different species of dolphins in the bay and their habitat. After that you’ll hop on a boat and head into the ocean. Finding the dolphins takes about 15-60 minutes as they can be anywhere in the bay, but rest assured we’ll find them. The tour visits a resident Bottlenose dolphin group and sometimes we’ll find spotted dolphins too. Depending on the dolphin’s type group, activity and of course their mood we will most probably have a good chance to swim with them specially if there are juveniles around (they are very curios), but we can’t guarantee the swimming as they are wild animals so it depends on them not on us (only occasionally they are not in a good mood and swimming with them is not a good idea). What we do guarantee 100% is that we will find the animals and if not you’ll 50 USD back.
At around 12:15 you’ll be back in the marina and from here we’ll go to Punta Mita stopping at a local Tequila brewery where you’ll be explained how Tequila is grown and will be able to sample different kinds.
At around 1:30 pm we’ll leave the brewery behind and drive to Punta Mita, one of the most exclusive areas in Mexico and certainly the most in the the area. This should take about 35 minutes and we’ll be heading straight for lunch. The restaurant is right in front of El Anclote beach, just a stone’s throw away from the ocean offering beautiful views and a relaxed atmosphere. The tour price covers 150 pesos in food which is enough for a good plate (including seafood) and a drink; the totopos and salsa mexicana are on the house. The menu in the restaurant includes all sorts of dishes from burgers to shrimp to steak, so don’t worry because there will be something you like.
After lunch ( at around 3-3:30 pm) we’ll walk a few meters to Hotel Cinco where we’ll get you all the SUP boards and after a theoretical explanation on how to practice this popular sport we’ll get you in the water and you’ll be out and about. The great thing about El Anclote is that the surf conditions are usually very mellow making it an ideal place where to learn. You’ll be able to paddle surf and enjoy one of the nicest views in the area with Puerto Vallarta just on the opposite side of the Bay.
The Paddle Surf session will last up to two hours if you still have the energy. By then it will be around 5-5:30 pm with the sun low on the horizon and it will be time to call it a day. After returning the boards you’ll have the opportunity to change into try clothes so that you feel comfortable during the estimated 45 minute drive back to your hotel (assuming you are in Nuevo or Puerto Vallarta).

You’ll be spending most of the day in the open, so we recommend you bring the following:
